crying for all they lost. one resident of washington told us what he was thinking as the storm approached. >> i was watching the news and they said a tornado down mere peekon. i go outside and i heard -- it's like a loud train. i said, this isn't right. i said it's not thunder. it just kept coming. kept coming and getting louder. so then i went into the basement and about ten seconds later, i heard -- i felt the house shaking and we waited probably a minute and came back up and saw what you're seeing here. >> peekon, peoria, washington. the damage was not confined to illinois. in missouri high winds damaged homes and uprooted trees in the st. louis area. more than 37,000 people were without power at one with point. look how strong those winds are. moving the car forward a little bit. >> damage was widespread in indiana. two schools took a direct hit and walls and roofs ripped away from the gym on one of them. a state of imagine has been declared there. >> in wisconsin, thousands are without power. that is in the milwaukee area. strong winds damaged buildings and sent trees tumb

iran's nuclear ambitions. jim sciutto is in geneva and covering the talks for us. this was 60 days of marathon bargaining. you called it a bit after wild ride when we were talking earlier. tell us about it. >> reporter: right up until the deal was signed after 3:00 in the morning on sunday, there were doubts that this deal was going to be made. the iran deputy foreign minister at the time said we are 98% of the way there. but that last 2%, those last stickler issues were really the difficult ones to get over but they did. the announcement came through as news breaks these days in a tweet, four simple words, we have an agreement. secretary of state john kerry came out and said it makes the world safer. as you said the agreement is only for six months and allow time to negotiate a longer term status for iran's nuclear program and really during these six months unprecedented limits on iran's program. it limits the degree to which you can enrich uranium to well below the level needed to make a bomb and allows intrusive inspections on all nuclear sites on a daily basis so a real achieve

. give us a situation of what it is like on the ground right now. >> reporter: the lights on the runway has gone up right now. a big problem in the past over the past five days, operation had to close down when night falls. if there is more aid coming in around the clock that will make a big, big difference. walking around the city today, it's a lot quieter. i've seen food being distributed but it is really, to me, looking quite haphazard. there is not big relief staging centers and not an abundance of people on the street handing things out yet but i do speak to a few people who did get back and say this food will last us for a week and then we don't know. a lot of people are scrambling to get out of this town and people cueing up from the early hours and sleeping overnight in what i can describe as appalling conditions and we have been with them all night. they line up to get a flight out. i just spoke to a woman who got here at 6:00 in the morning and being patient. the gates open and no plan and they got the plane out so they had to come back and stay here tonight. a lot of p

where he took his own life. i'm joined by the prosecutor here, john mullanely. can you talk us through exactly what happened tonight? >> some time after 9:00 p.m., mr. shoop came in dressed all in black and wearing a black motorcycle helmet with his rifle and shortly after entering, let go about a minimum of six rounds or maybe more. we have to look at it yet. in an area he could have easily hit individuals but chose not to. based upon what our investigation disclosed over the hours that followed, we believe that he went in there with the intent to either be shot by police, which we call suicide or to take his own life, which he ultimately did. >> what have you learned about this young man? >> a troubled person. someone that, you know, has a history of drug use. you wouldn't think that at age 20, age 20, how much can you do in your life, but in his life, he at least thought that he had reached a point on where there was no recourse other than to take his own life. >> reporter: you've talked to his family. you talked earlier indications from what they told you, you're not surpri
